Rabah Qadir, MD, is a highly skilled, board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon at The Taller Institute, located within The Woodlands Sports Medicine Centre in The Woodlands, Texas. Dr. Qadir provides essential emergency trauma care to patients with severe injuries. He has previously served as the Orthopaedic Trauma Director and Chairman of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center, where he played a key role in the facility achieving Level 2 trauma recognition.
In his trauma practice, Dr. Qadir has successfully inserted intramedullary nails in over 1,000 patients, addressing acute fractures, chronic deformities, and leg length discrepancies. His expertise also extends to those seeking surgical height correction through the intramedullary nailing procedure for cosmetic reasons.
Dr. Qadir earned his bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey, graduating with honors while participating in varsity lacrosse and football at the Division 1 level, including being part of an NCAA national championship lacrosse team. He obtained his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he received several accolades, including the E. Edward McCool Jr. Award for the top surgery student and induction into the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Honor Society.
He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts, and Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he trained alongside team doctors for the New Orleans Pelicans and the New Orleans Saints.
Dr. Qadir further honed his skills through an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the esteemed R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, the only freestanding trauma hospital in the United States, known for having the oldest and most distinguished fellowship of its kind.
An active member of AO Trauma, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Dr. Qadir has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and presented his research at local, national, and international conferences, earning multiple academic awards.
